Welcome to the ultimate guide for optimizing your walt device's notification settings! In this article, we will discuss which settings weavix recommends you enable to maximize the functionality of your walt radio.
How to get to your Settings:
To get to your settings quickly follow the steps below:
1. Click the 3-bar stack in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen
2. Select the settings gear icon on your menu screen
Notifications:
PTT Messages:
Announce Sender -
weavix recommends that you enable walt to announce the sender when you receive an incoming message on an inactive channel when Radio Scan is on.
Reason: You will be able to know who is sending you messages while walt is scanning through all of your channels. This way you will know if someone is reaching out to you outside of your active channel.
Chat Messages:
Read Incoming Messages -
When a chat message is received, walt will read the message.
Reason: If a user sends a non-PTT message, when enabled, walt will still read these messages aloud.
Notification Alert -
walt will ding after receiving a non-PTT message, picture, or video.
Reason: This ensures you are not missing any non-PTT messages.
Banners:
Speaking Banner -
When receiving a PTT message, a banner will appear showing the sender and channel.
Reason: This is another great way to monitor who is sending you messages outside of your active channel.
Reply Now Banner -
After a message is received, walt will show a banner on the screen with the sender, channel, and transcribed message. When enabled, this banner will allow you to respond directly to that message.
Reason: This is great if you ever have to be "hands-free" and do not have access to look at your walt screen before responding.
Banner Duration -
Choose anywhere between 5-20 seconds for how long the "Reply Now" banner will display on your screen before going away.
Pro Tip! All of these settings are profile-based. When set, they will stay set no matter which walt radio you log into!
