Logging in:
Grab a Walt from the docking station. A green LED light at the top of the radio means it’s fully charged.
To log in, select the appropriate option — you can choose to log in from the following options
NFC Badge: Tap your NFC card or NFC sticker on the back of your Walt Smart Radio. This will automatically read your badge and sign you in.
QR Code: Users with access to managing other users can display a login QR code from either the console or the weavix Mobile App. On your Walt, tap the QR code icon on the far left of the login screen, then scan the displayed code. This option is especially helpful if a user has misplaced or forgotten their NFC badge.
Phone Number: Full users—those with a phone number or email tied to their profile—can log in by sending a verification code to their registered phone number. On the login screen, tap the phone icon in the middle, enter your number, and use the verification code sent to your phone to complete login.
Email: Full users can also log in using their registered email address. On the login screen, tap the email icon on the right, enter your email, and check for a verification code. Enter that code into your Walt Smart Radio to finish logging in.
Once you have chosen your method of logging in, you will then be required to enter your 4 digit PIN to complete the login process.
Navigating the Radio:
Your radio has a touchscreen that allows you to fully navigate all of your channels.
You can also use the glove friendly buttons at the bottom to navigate.
Use the navigation buttons (up and down arrows) to scroll through your Walt Smart Radio.
Use the back button to take you to your most previous screen. If you ever find yourself lost within the Walt Smart Radio, simply keep pressing it until you’re back on the channel list screen.
Press the circle button to make a selection or confirm an action.
If you press and hold the circle button for about 2 seconds, the screen will turn off and your Walt will enter sleep mode—it will remain powered on to receive incoming messages. To wake your Walt up, simply click the circle button one time.
To power off your Walt completely, press and hold the circle button for approximately 10 seconds until a message appears on the screen that says “Shutting Down.”
Using the Radio:
The Channel List screen shows all channels you have access to.
The channel that is highlighted blue is your active channel.
Pressing the blue PTT button will send your message to the highlighted blue channel.
Tap on a channel to open it, or use the navigation buttons to highlight it and press the circle button to select it. Once inside, you’ll see a list of messages from that channel, showing who sent each message, when it was sent, and giving you the option to read the transcription or playback the audio.
After entering a channel, it becomes your active channel, meaning any messages you send using the blue PTT button will go directly into that channel.
Channel Scan:
Channel Scan is a feature that lets you choose which channels you want to listen to from the ones you’re a part of. To access this, tap your back button until you are on your Menu. Next, tap or select "Channel Scan" to view your setting options.
Scan Favorites - You will hear communication through all channels that you are included in.
Scan Off - You will only hear communication from the channel that is highlighted in blue.
Scan All - You will hear only communication through channels that you have favorited.
Create a New Channel:
In addition to the channels assigned to you by your administrative team, you can also create your own channels right from your Walt Smart Radio to talk with individuals or groups.
To do this, tap the back button until you reach the menu screen, then select Create Channel. From there, choose whether you want to start an individual or group channel.
Next, select People to see everyone you can communicate with, and tap on the name or names of the people you’d like to include. You can also choose Search to type in a person’s name and select them from the list.
In order for this channel your created channels show up on your channel list, you will need to start a conversation. To do so, press and hold the blue PTT and send your message to start your conversation and activate the channel. This channel will now be added to your channel list.
