Creating a user defined channel with walt makes it easy to communicate directly and efficiently with a specific teammate, supervisor, or collaborator. Whether you're coordinating tasks, sharing updates, or checking in during a shift, one-to-one channels allow for quick, private push-to-talk conversations that keep work moving without delays.
Getting Started

Open your Walt menu:

Tap the three-bar menu in the bottom left corner

Press the back button

- Select New Channel
Choose Your Channel Type
You’ll see two options:

Individual – Start a channel with one person

Group – Start a channel with multiple people
Find the Person or People You Want to Connect With
You can choose from several options to find the person(s):

People – View the full directory of people you have access to

Nearby – Start a chat with someone whose walt is detected nearby

Tap to Talk – Tap their NFC badge or sticker to start a channel

Company – Connect with someone from a different company

Craft – Start a channel with someone from a specific department or craft

Search – Type in the name of the person you’re looking for
Starting the Channel
Once you send your first Push-to-Talk (PTT) message, the user defined channel will automatically appear in your channel list.
Removing a Channel
To remove it from your list:

Tap on the channel

Swipe up from the grey bar at the bottom of the screen

Tap the down arrow -
This will open the channel settings

Select Leave
Once you leave, it will no longer appear in your list.
Pro Tip!
If you or the other person starts a new channel again in the future, your previous channel will reappear with your full chat history so you can pick up right where you left off.
Pro Tip!
If a channel has your company logo next to it, you cannot leave it. These are admin defined channels.
If you believe you don't need the channel, please contact your supervisor.
