Important things to note before we start:
-
weavix does have four default permission groups that you will see already added to your account.
- Pro Tip! The only permission group that cannot be modified or deleted is the Admin permission group.
- Permission groups are site specific and can be managed under the Sites section in Console.
Getting Started
The first thing to do is navigate to your weavix Console. Once in Console, select "Sites" under your Configuration tree. Now that we are in the Sites section, please follow the steps below to build out your customized Permission Groups.
Creating a New Permission Group
Select the site that you want to create a Permission Group for by click on the name of the site. Click here to learn more about Sites.
Once you have selected the site, you will then need to navigate to the "Permission Groups" section at the top of your screen.
You will then be pulled into a screen that shows weavix's default permissions. This screen is where we can also create custom Permission Groups for a specific Site.
Pro Tip! Select each default Permission Group to review what each group allows!
Now that you have decided that you would like to create a custom permission group, you will need to select the big blue "Add Permission Group" button in the top left hand corner of the screen.
Once selected, you will be asked if you want to Create a New Permission Group or Duplicate one. Select "Create New". Click next.
You will then be prompted to name your Permission Group on the General Page.
Pro Tip! It is recommended that you name the Permission Group after the "Group" that you are going to assign it to. EX: Maintenance Team, Safety Team, etc.
Now that your Permission Group is named, we will work through the Smart Radio, Workforce Diagnostics, Protect and Configuration sections.
Starting with the Smart Radio Section we will want to work through the list to determine what users will have access to on their walt Smart Radio when assigned this permission.

- walt Smart Radio - Will give users access to log into the walt Radio.
- weavix Mobile App - Will give users access to log into the Mobile App on mobile devices.

Pro Tip! You can disable weavix platforms for specific groups of users to keep communication streamlined, by unchecking the box next to the platform permissions.
Now that you have determined what access users will have on their walt Smart Radios, you can navigate through the Workforce Diagnostics section.
-
LiveLook - Will give users access to the LiveLook feature in the web Console and the Map in the weavix Mobile App.
- Similar to create user defined channels, this has an editable section which allows you to determine which users can see the livelook map.
The next section we will want to walk through is Protect. Under Protect you will need to determine if these users need the ability to send out Mass Alerts.
The next section will cover Configuration, under this section you will need to determine what users have access to if they are able to log into Console. You will also need to decide if you want these users to be able to view or edit the configurations there.
Once you have gone through each section, you will want to ensure you select "Save" in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. You will then be able to assign this Permission Group to users. Click here to learn how to assign a Permission Group to a user.
