What's new with weavix?
Control which devices a user can log into
A common request from site admins is to be able to prevent some users from being able to log in to the weavix Mobile App or Web Radio.
Now, in Permission Groups, you can separately grant permission to log into a walt, weavix Mobile App, or weavix Console / Web Radio. Users who are assigned to that Permission Group will only be able to log into the types of devices that they have permission for.
Send a message to an individual user via API
Do you have systems that you want to integrate into weavix? You can now use our APIs to send a message to a specific user. This feature can be used to automate notifications from machines or other systems that you want to alert a weavix user about.
Edit users during your bulk upload
When uploading a large amount of users to your account, if you encounter any errors and need to make changes to your users before continuing, you can do that directly on the console instead of needing to edit your spreadsheet and re-upload.
You can also create crafts and tags as needed while you are uploading your users.
Confidently know a user is near a specific location using Priority Beacons
weavix currently offers BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) beacons to augment your indoor location. Now, you can designate a beacon as a Priority Beacon and set a "snap radius" for it. When any user is seen within the set distance from the beacon, the user's location will be shown at the location that the beacon is placed, ensuring you know when users are close by the selected location.
View who is included on your Admin Defined Channel
When your are configuring the Admin Defined Channels for your site, you can now see what users will be included on the channel as you create or edit the criteria of people to include.
You can also use the new Advanced mode when selecting which users will or will not be included on a channel, giving you even greater control over what channels users have access to
Manage who your users can create individual channels with
Admins can give users access to create individual channels with a limited list of users that they may need to contact.
Give Site Admins control over their weavix Site
If your company has multiple Sites on a single weavix account, admins on a single site have more control over the administrative functions for their site, without potentially impacting the configuration for a different site from the same company.
At the account level, permissions have transitioned to designating the user as a Global Admin or not. And on the site level, users will have permission for the sites they need access to,
Here are some of the highlights:
- Account level permissions have gone away.
- Moving forward, all users will be designated as a Global Admin or not.
- Non-Global Admins are required to have permission on at least one site
- All existing users who had account level Admin permission will be transitioned to Global Admins by default
- Permission groups are now site specific and can be managed under the Sites section in Console.
- Account Level settings, API keys, Compliance, and Dashboards are all account level activities, and thus they are only accessible by Global Admins. When a Global Admin creates a new dashboard, they can select specific people or groups who can view the dashboard results.
- Admin Defined Channels are now site specific. Newly created ADCs will all require you to designate which site the channel is for.
- Crafts, Geofence Types, Item Types, and Alert Types all remain at the account level, but can be created and shared by any site on the account
- Device Management and walt Settings have both moved to be site specific settings under the Sites section so that you have more control over the walts that belong to your site.
- The format of the Site Settings pages have been improved with better organization to help you quickly set up and manage your site.
